Salary Negotiation Coach
Salary negotiation email: a template built from your offer
A polite, specific counter-offer email with your number and reasons - ready to send.
Free to try. Passes from for 30 days.
Raisivo gives negotiation guidance based on what you enter. It has no access to company salary bands and doesn't guarantee an outcome. Don't misrepresent your current pay or other offers.
Who it's for
- "They offered ₹28 LPA CTC but ₹4 lakh is variable and ₹2 lakh is joining bonus. Is it really a hike?"
- "HR keeps asking my current CTC. Do I have to tell them?"
- "I have two offers - how do I use one to improve the other without losing both?"
- "My manager says hikes are fixed this year. How do I still ask?"
- "The offer is $165k base in Seattle. Is there room?"
Why people use Raisivo
Most people accept the first offer, or ask for 'a little more' with no number and no reason - and lose lakhs over the next few years, because every future hike is a percentage of today's base. In India it's worse: offers are quoted as CTC stuffed with variable pay, ESOPs, joining bonuses and retention clauses, and HR anchors on your current salary. Negotiation coaches exist, but they charge a share of the increase or thousands of dollars. Raisivo builds your counter from your real situation: the offer broken into fixed, variable, one-time and equity parts; your current pay and other offers; the market range you've found; and your leverage. You get the number to ask for and why, the email, the phone script, replies to the six things recruiters always say, and what to trade if base is capped (joining bonus, notice buy-out, ESOP refresh, title, WFH). Then practise the call with a recruiter who pushes back - typed or spoken - until you're comfortable.
- ✓ Your offer decoded: fixed vs variable vs one-time vs ESOP, and the real first-year and ongoing value
- ✓ A counter number with the reasoning (market, other offers, current pay, scope), not 'ask for 10-20% more'
- ✓ The email and the call script, in your words and tone - polite, specific, hard to say no to
- ✓ Answers to the classic pushback: 'This is our best offer', 'What's your current CTC?', 'The band is fixed', 'We need an answer today'
- ✓ What to ask for when base is capped: joining bonus, notice-period buy-out, ESOP, title, review in 6 months, WFH, relocation
- ✓ Live practice: a realistic recruiter role-play with feedback after each answer
- ✓ Works for raises and promotions too, and for India, US and UK offers

Frequently asked questions
How much more should I ask for?
There's no fixed percentage. Ask for a specific number slightly above what would make you happy, justified by the role's scope, the market range you can point to, and any other offer. In India focus the ask on fixed pay, because variable and one-time amounts don't compound into future hikes.
Do I have to tell HR my current CTC?
There's no law in India that requires you to, but many companies ask for payslips during background checks, so don't misstate it. You can redirect: 'I'm looking at roles in the ₹X-Y range for this scope.' In several US states and cities, employers can't ask about salary history at all.
Can negotiating make them withdraw the offer?
Rarely, if you're polite and specific. Offers get withdrawn after aggressive ultimatums or invented competing offers. A respectful, reasoned counter is normal and expected, especially at senior levels.
How do I compare offers with variable pay and ESOPs?
Value fixed pay fully, variable at a realistic payout (ask what the last two years paid), one-time bonuses only in year one (minus clawback risk), and ESOPs cautiously - private-company equity can be worth a lot or nothing. The offer decoder does this split for you.
What is the live practice?
A role-play where the AI plays the recruiter or your manager and uses the usual tactics - low anchor, 'best and final', deadline pressure. You answer by typing or speaking and get a coaching note after each answer, then a scorecard.
What does it cost?
One full negotiation plan a day is free, plus a few practice turns. A 30-day pass (₹299 / $7) gives unlimited plans, revisions and practice calls for the whole negotiation.
