Salary Negotiation Coach

How much more should I ask for?

There's no fixed percentage. Ask for a specific number slightly above what would make you happy, justified by the role's scope, the market range you can point to, and any other offer. In India focus the ask on fixed pay, because variable and one-time amounts don't compound into future hikes.

Do I have to tell HR my current CTC?

There's no law in India that requires you to, but many companies ask for payslips during background checks, so don't misstate it. You can redirect: 'I'm looking at roles in the ₹X-Y range for this scope.' In several US states and cities, employers can't ask about salary history at all.

Can negotiating make them withdraw the offer?

Rarely, if you're polite and specific. Offers get withdrawn after aggressive ultimatums or invented competing offers. A respectful, reasoned counter is normal and expected, especially at senior levels.

How do I compare offers with variable pay and ESOPs?

Value fixed pay fully, variable at a realistic payout (ask what the last two years paid), one-time bonuses only in year one (minus clawback risk), and ESOPs cautiously - private-company equity can be worth a lot or nothing. The offer decoder does this split for you.

What is the live practice?

A role-play where the AI plays the recruiter or your manager and uses the usual tactics - low anchor, 'best and final', deadline pressure. You answer by typing or speaking and get a coaching note after each answer, then a scorecard.

What does it cost?

One full negotiation plan a day is free, plus a few practice turns. A 30-day pass (₹299 / $7) gives unlimited plans, revisions and practice calls for the whole negotiation.
